Blog # 1 Me Myself and I

My name is Nathan Blankenship and I am a 35 year old Office Manager at a nonprofit here in Atlanta. I have lived in Atlanta for 5 years now, and I am originally from Arkansas.  After college, I moved to Los Angeles, where I lived for 7 years. I love living in Atlanta and it has changed so much in the few years that I've been here.  I have a 7 year old Chow Chow dog named Kenzo, and he and I love exploring the outdoors here.  Atlanta is a beautiful city and there are a lot of fun activities to do.  Going to Piedmont Park and the Beltine is one of my favorite things to do with Kenzo.

I am passionate about spending quality time with my friends and exploring Atlanta and also volunteering my time and talents to local nonprofits, especially animal rescue organizations.  Since I've been here in Atlanta, I have volunteered with Chap's Chow Rescue, which rescues chow chow dogs from all over the southeast.  I've even fostered a few (and never been a foster fail).  I would love to get involved in mentoring at risk youth, and that is something that I am actively researching.  Giving back makes me feel like I am contributing to the greater good of society and there are many respectable nonprofit organizations in Atlanta that are making a difference.

I definitely think vitamins and supplements are especially appropriate to buy as a natural product because I believe they are better fortified to nourish the body versus those that are more conventional.   I try to buy natural vitamins as often as I can (and if I can afford it). I'm not sure that any healthcare categories are least appropriate to have natural options.  I think it is good for all healthcare categories to offer some kind of natural options for those who may be sensitive to ingredients in the standard OTC products or just want to use a more holistic approach to their health.

Blog 4 - Question 5

I am a big fan of the idea of the Natural Whole Body Care products listed...  I like that the ingredients include 'time tested' ingredients made to support the body AND mind.   The Herbal Stress Support stood out to me as the one I would most want to try.  I would also be curious to try the herbal sleep aid as sometimes I have trouble with insomnia, but I don't want to take heavy duty OTC sleep medicine. A.   If this came from a new brand, I would definitely be open to try it as long as it wasn't too expensive.  I would probably try one of the products (probably the stress relief formula) to see how it worked before trying the other ones.   I suppose coming from a new brand that isn't established, I would be curious to try the product and/or search for reviews online or ask my friends if they have tried them. Blog 3- Question 5

In CVS, I found the natural products mixed in with the conventional products - the natural cold medicine mixed in with the conventional cold medicine, the natural laxatives mixed in with the conventional laxatives, etc.  I would prefer that all the natural medicines be located in one section together and not mixed in with the conventional OTC products.  To me, it makes finding all natural products simpler as it can be a bit of a scavenger hunt finding the all natural products when they are mixed  in with the conventional ones.
